The Canonization Process Begins Filming of a Documentary Series about Father Eustáquio

The audiovisual production team for the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Father Eustáquio was in Patrocínio and Romaria, both cities in Minas Gerais, recording testimonies and scenes for a documentary series about the life of Blessed Father Eustáquio.

In Patrocínio, the team's first stop, they spoke with Lucélia Borges, a devotee and biographer of Father Eustáquio. The retired teacher welcomed the producers and showed them the large collection housed in her home in the center of Patrocínio.

Lucélia spoke about Father Eustáquio's time in the city of Alto Paranaíba in Minas Gerais, the daily life of the Blessed, and about curious stories that she includes in her book.

Another stop for the team was in Romaria (formerly Água Suja), the first city where Father Eustáquio served in his mission in Brazil. There, they filmed with the devout André Faleiros, who has a deep knowledge of the history of the place and the Blessed Father's time there. The producers also met with Neid Emília Oliveira, author of a book about Father Eustáquio; Eni, responsible for the vegetable garden conceived by the Blessed Father; and Father Márcio Rubak, rector of the Sanctuary-Basilica of Our Lady of the Abbey.

Devotees were also interviewed and recounted the graces they had received through the intercession of the Blessed. The idea is to return to the region to gather more testimonies, such as those of the devotee Celeida Maria and Monsignor Geraldo, who are great connoisseurs of Father Eustáquio's history in that region.

In addition to documentary material, other content was produced in the cities to commemorate the centenary of the Blessed One's arrival in Brazil.
