Brothers of the Sacred Hearts participate in Missionary Action in the Diocese of Araçuaí-MG

Some brothers, including priests, deacons, and postulants, are on a mission in the diocese of Araçuaí, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais. The mission began last weekend and will continue until next Saturday, January 28th.

A banner welcomes participants upon arrival at the Missions.

To participate in the Missionary Action in one of the pastoral regions of the diocese, members of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, coming from various parts of the country, gathered over the weekend in Belo Horizonte, heading to the Jequitinhonha Valley region. The missionaries will work in the cities of Pedra Azul, Águas Vermelhas, Cachoeira de Pajeú, Curral de Dentro, and Divisa Alegre.

Before setting out on their mission to the communities of the parishes belonging to these cities, the missionaries met to receive instructions and the schedule for their home visits. They will be staying in the homes of families within the communities they visit. Catechesis, prayers, Masses, celebration of the Word, Adoration, and meditation on the Holy Rosary are some of the activities carried out during these days.

Currently, three priests and two nuns from the Congregation live in the region (Pedra Azul and Divisa Alegre) and carry out constant missionary work in parishes in these two cities. Now, united with other brothers and sisters, they will go to other communities to bring the Word of God.
