Father Eustáquio, known for his charisma and devotion, left a legacy of faith that continues to inspire many. Among the numerous accounts of his life, two episodes stand out for their spiritual depth and the impact they had on those present.
One such incident occurred before a crowd of about 12,000 people, all eager to receive Father Eustáquio's blessing. Among them, one man stood out. Carrying a jug on his shoulder, he challenged the priest's faith and authority, saying, "I want to see if the Father will bless this liquor." The moment the priest began to bless the people, something astonishing happened: the jug broke in two, soaking the man completely, but without spilling a drop on the ground.
Another significant account involves a 20-year-old woman, paralyzed since birth, who sought Father Eustáquio's blessing one Sunday after Mass. Accompanied by her family and surrounded by devotees, she approached the altar with hope. Father Eustáquio, with profound faith, blessed her, repeating three times: "Rise in the name of Saint Joseph." The young woman, disbelieving she was capable, replied that she could not walk. However, faced with the priest's insistence and the strength of her faith, she rose and walked to the altar of Saint Joseph, surrounded by an emotional crowd, weeping with joy and gratitude for witnessing the miracle.
These episodes, witnessed by Raul Bolsari, were presented to the Court for the Cause of Canonization of Father Eustáquio in 1963, and remain powerful symbols of God's work through the priest.
These accounts reinforce the importance of his intercession and the affection that the people hold for him, still considered today a figure of profound devotion and spiritual power. May his story continue to illuminate the hearts of the faithful and spread his message of health and peace.
