A weekend of festivities at the Church of Father Eustáquio. Plan ahead and participate!

August 30th is Father Eustáquio's Day, and festivities at the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte have been taking place throughout the week. However, in the coming days, the church will intensify moments of prayer and communion among the faithful.

Today (27) there will be three celebrations. At 7am, as usual. At 3pm, the Holy Mass with the Sick and with the blessing of medicines and medicinal herbs. And at 5pm Holy Mass with the meditation of the seventh day of the Novena and stalls in the church square.

On Sunday there will be five masses (7am, 8:30am, 10am, 5pm and 7pm), the last one with the participation of the faith community of the São Paulo da Cruz Sanctuary, Passionist religious. In addition, there will be stalls and toys for children that day.

On Monday (29), the eve of Father Eustáquio's day, there will be Mass and Novena at 7 pm, with the Diaconal ordination of Br. Wanderson de Souza Alves, ss.cc. The celebration will be presided over by D. Aloísio Jorge Pena Vitral, Bishop Emeritus of Sete Lagoas-MG.

On Tuesday, the Blessed One's Day, there will be 8 masses: 6am, 7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm. The last celebration will be solemn and will end with a candlelight procession. Throughout the day there will be stalls in the square and inside the Sanctuary.

Participating in the festivities this year, the Sanctuary of Health and Peace will have two distinguished guests: Father Andrzej Lukawski, ss.cc, Postulator General of the Congregation and Procurator General of the institution, who will come from Rome to experience the festival, visit the archives, and celebrate with the devotees. In addition, Will van den Boomen, nephew of Blessed Father Eustace, will be coming from the Netherlands.

Those visiting the Padre Eustáquio Memorial and participating in the celebrations at the Sanctuary are advised to protect themselves, use hand sanitizer, and wear face masks. The Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace is located at Rua Padre Eustáquio, 2405, in the Padre Eustáquio neighborhood of Belo Horizonte.
