Next Sunday, August 21st, the community of the Padre Eustáquio neighborhood in Belo Horizonte will experience a moment of faith and devotion to the Blessed One. A truck carrying the image of the Blessed One will travel through almost all the streets of the neighborhood, starting at 1 PM. The procession will depart from the Padre Eustáquio Church.
As in previous years, the idea is for residents to express their devotion by decorating their doors and windows for the procession. The entire route will be broadcast live on the Padre Eustáquio Channel on YouTube so that people can follow along and go out into the streets when the procession is passing by to pay their respects.
See where the motorcade will pass:
The procession will leave the church at 1 PM, going along Padre Eustáquio Street, turning onto Catigliano Street. Then the procession will turn left onto Riachuelo Street and continue to Euler Street, turn right and go down to Itororó Street. Upon reaching Vila Rica Street, the procession will continue to Pará de Minas Street and then to Bartolomeu Gusmão Street, turning onto Camilo de Brito Street to pass in front of the Cristo Rei Chapel, the place where Father Eustáquio carried out his mission in Belo Horizonte.
The procession enters Curupaiti and continues to Olinto Magalhães Street, proceeding to Vila Rica and entering Rio Pomba. There, the motorcade continues to Henrique Gorceix Street and sequentially passes through all the parallel streets: Costa Sena, Francisco Bicalho, Progresso, Castigliano, and Cesário Alvim along their entire length (from Pedro II Avenue to the edges of the Via Expressa).
Then the motorcade re-enters Padre Eustáquio Street and goes to Henrique Gorceix Street, turning onto Riachuelo Street and continuing to Curral Del Rei Street, then onto Dom Silvério Street to take Aquidaban Street and descend Castigliano Street to Vereador Geraldo Pereira Street and continue to its end, at Anchieta Street. From there, the motorcade travels along all the parallel streets: Humaitá, Aquidaban, Coronel José Benjamin, and Tuiuti, covering the entire length of these streets, up to Vila Rica.
From Vila Rica Street, the motorized procession goes to Rio Pomba Street, traveling along its entire length to Lima Duarte Street, then turning onto Padre Eustáquio Street to enter Manhumirim Street, turn onto Riachuelo Street and continue to Itanhandu Street. The procession enters Tereza Cristina Avenue and goes up Ingaí Street to Camarugi Street. It passes again along Manhumirim Street to access Frederico Bracher Junior Street until Tereza Cristina Avenue, where it then continues until it enters Bonaparte Street and goes up Jacarina Street.
Along Riachuelo Street, the procession returns to Padre Eustáquio Street to access the other side of Jacarina Street and continue to Três Pontas Street. On Cesário Alvim Street, the cars descend to Pedro II Street, enter Perdizes Street, and return to Padre Eustáquio Street to travel along Cesário Alvim Street, then Perdões Street and Jandaia Street until returning to Padre Eustáquio Street and arriving at the church.
