Spirituality Series of Father Eustáquio: Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament

How can we talk about Father Eustáquio without mentioning his love for Jesus in the Eucharist? In our third publication on the Spirituality of the Blessed, we will discuss his devotion to the Holy Eucharist.

Father Eustace's love for God, and specifically his love for Christ, is manifested in no better way than in his devotion to the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist.

There was such devotion to the Blessed Sacrament in his heart that the Blessed One was willing to sacrifice his life for this truth, as we can conclude from his own words:“We are here and Jesus is right there, very close to us. Oh yes, I am convinced that you are all convinced of the true presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. I even believe that you are ready to give your lives in profession of your faith in the true presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar (…) and that after the words 'do this in memory of me' you believe in the institution of the Blessed Sacrament and in the real presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. We believe as if we saw it with our own eyes and we would like to give our own lives to prove this article of our faith.‘.

In several other writings of the Blessed One, it is possible to observe this devotion to the Sacrament of the Eucharist. As is the case in this text: “Dear brothers and sisters: – I am saying this not without reason – receive communion, receive communion always, seek Jesus with pure hearts and the unwavering confidence of a clear conscience.”.
