The "Ladies of Charity" association, last Tuesday the 13th, donated the toys collected for underprivileged children from families served by the Social Action of the Health and Peace Sanctuary, the Church of Blessed Father Eustace. Dozens of families, with their children, filled the seats in the Community Center, attached to the church, to receive the gifts.
Several toys were collected, including games, dolls, toy cars, and even bicycles. The donations were delivered by the community to the parish office. The delivery was made by volunteers from the Ladies of Charity group, led by the president of the Association, Marisa Coutinho, and the Rector of the Sanctuary, Father Vinícius, who also attended the delivery and helped Santa Claus distribute the gifts to the children.
Currently, the Ladies serve more than 150 registered needy families, who are helped monthly with basic food baskets, medicines, payment of basic bills, and cleaning and hygiene supplies.
