Wednesday Masses at 12 pm will include a blessing with the laying on of hands.

Starting next Wednesday, October 19th, the Holy Mass celebrated at noon (12:00 PM) at the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace will include a blessing through the laying on of priestly hands. This gesture, described in the Bible from Old Testament texts, is like a plea for all of God's blessings to fall upon the person under the priestly hands.

As is customary, the masses celebrated in the Church of Blessed Father Eustace already include prayer and supplication to the Blessed, immediately after the prayer after communion. The faithful turn to the image of the Blessed in the presbytery and repeat the prayer that he himself used when giving his blessing to those who sought him. From now on, on Wednesdays at 12 noon, the priest will lay his hands on the heads of the devotees after the final blessing.

For several years, the Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro church, in the Campo Grande neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, has maintained the tradition of the blessing of Health and Peace with the laying on of hands at the Wednesday mass at noon. There, devotees from various parts of Rio celebrate Holy Mass and receive the blessing every week, through the intercession of Father Eustáquio.

In addition to Wednesdays, the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, holds midday services from Tuesday to Friday, as well as masses at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. On Saturdays, masses are at 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and on Sundays at 7:00 AM, 8:30 AM, 10:00 AM, 5:00 PM, and 7:00 PM. On Mondays, the Eucharistic Celebration is held only at 7:00 PM.

For now The laying on of hands will only take place at the Wednesday mass at 12:00 PM., But the idea is that the gesture can also be done in other celebrations in the future.
