Postulator General of the Cause for Canonization of Father Eustáquio arrives in Brazil.

The Postulator General for the Causes of Beatification and Canonization of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, Father Andrzej Lukawski, ss.cc, is already in Brazil. His first stop was in Poá-SP, where he visited the church where the Blessed served from 1935 to 1941.

Father Andrzej arrived Tuesday night and was greeted at the airport in São Paulo by the Brothers of the Sacred Hearts from the Parish of Saint Emídio. Yesterday, he visited the city of Poá, in the metropolitan region of the São Paulo capital. In the city, the postulator visited the Father Eustáquio Museum and the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Blessed's mission field. Also in Poá, Fr. Andrzej visited the exhibition "Getting to Know Father Eustáquio" in the city center. He was received by representatives of the church, the culture department, and the mayor of Poá, Márcia Bin.

From Poá, the postulator will come to Belo Horizonte where he will participate in the festivities of the Day of Blessed Father Eustáquio. On Saturday and Sunday, Andrzej will visit places related to the devotion, see the archive's collection, and study some documents from the Canonization process. He will also meet with the vice-postulator, Fr. Vinícius Maciel, SSCC, to discuss the next steps in the process and learn about graces attributed to Father Eustáquio, in order to further the Cause of Canonization.

Father Andrzej Lukawski, SSCC

Father Andrzej Lukawski is a religious of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, Postulator General of the Congregation and Procurator General of the institution. He was born in Poland and was appointed in 2019 to assume the position previously held by David Reid, SSCC.
