A photo found by the team recovering and cataloging Father Eustáquio's belongings shows a long line of faithful waiting to be attended to by the Blessed in Poá, a metropolitan region of São Paulo. The Dutch priest was parish priest in the city from 1935 to 1941 at the Nossa Senhora de Lourdes Parish.

As in every place he went, Father Eustáquio dedicated his missionary work to the sick and suffering, and for this reason a large number of people sought the priest's prayers. With a reputation for bringing health and peace to people, pilgrims waited for hours in lines hoping to receive the priest's blessing personally, and Father Eustáquio made a point of attending to everyone.

It was in Poá that reports of graces obtained through the intercession of the Blessed began, and therefore, the flow of people seeking Father Eustáquio grew ever greater. So much so that the small city could not accommodate the large number of faithful who sought him daily.
