The Corpus Christi celebration, on the 16th, was marked by great faith, emotion, and the unity of the community around the festivities. Hundreds of volunteers and collaborators worked intensely on the creation of the carpets, the preparation of the liturgy, and the transmission of all the celebrations.
From 6 a.m., volunteers were already preparing the carpets, which hadn't been made for two years due to the pandemic. In addition to the work in the square, a group also organized to offer a hearty breakfast to those who were creating these true works of art. During the celebration, priests, brothers, ministers of communion, altar servers, and readers demonstrated respect and great affection for the solemnity. One of the highlights was the choir, which once again sang and enchanted those who were attending the celebration.
This time, in addition to the Holy Mass, the Padre Eustáquio Channel also broadcast, in HD, the entire procession with the blessings of the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of the neighborhood. With investments in equipment and manpower, it was possible to follow every step taken with the Eucharistic Jesus. In the evening, those who watched the Channel could also enjoy a beautiful moment of Adoration during the broadcast of the Special Music and Prayer: Behold the Mystery of Faith.
Since the highlights of the day were the sawdust carpets, we've included some photos that captured the volunteers' work this year:
