Vice-postulator participates in the opening of the 23rd National Meeting of the Elderly.

The 23rd National Meeting of Senior Citizens, "Dedo de Prosa," began last night, May 16th, in the city of Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais. The event, which takes place twice a year, brings together nearly a thousand seniors this week for moments of culture, religion, and leisure.

On Monday night, the program's host and creator, Juarez Elisiário, led the opening of the meeting held at the CENACCON Convention Center in Poços de Caldas. During the presentation, Father Vinícius Maciel, ss.cc, entered the theater with an image of Our Lady of Aparecida. The moment of faith moved the participants, who prayed and asked God for the meeting and for their own families.

Father Vinícius, who is responsible for the Cause of Canonization of Father Eustáquio (vice-postulator), is the spiritual director of the event, being present throughout the week and celebrating the closing Holy Mass. The priest, who is also the president of the Padre Eustáquio Social Action, maintains a stand with devotional material, religious articles related to Father Eustáquio, and other products that are sold, with proceeds going to social works and the Cause of Canonization.

Right after the opening, the participants enjoyed a show by Ângelo Máximo and the themed dance party “Back to the Jovem Guarda” with Henrique Jotta and Liana.

The meeting will continue until next Thursday, the day Juarez is expected to announce the location where the next "Dedo de Prosa" will be held, likely in November of this year.

A Finger of Prose

The "Encontro Dedo de Prosa" (Encounter of a Little Chat) originated from the "Programa Dedo de Prosa" (Finger of a Chat Program) on TV Horizonte, and is the first Brazilian television program aimed at senior citizens. Hosted by Juarez Elisiário, it is an excellent entertainment option and a space for discussions about active aging in the population.
