The vice-postulator of the Cause for Canonization of Father Eustáquio, Father Vinícius Maciel, sscc, participated yesterday in the Fraternity and Education Conference, held at the City Hall of Patrocínio, in the Alto Paranaíba region of Minas Gerais. The event was promoted by the Berlar Education Network in partnership with the municipality's Legislative Branch.
The meeting, held on the evening of Thursday, March 17th, brought together religious, educational, and political authorities from the Minas Gerais municipality to discuss the theme of the 2022 Fraternity Campaign: Education and Fraternity. At the opening of the conference, councilman Natanael Diniz, a teacher who requested the event be held at the City Hall, spoke about the importance of education for the world. The daughter of Mayor Deiró Marra, Maria Clara Marra, also spoke, highlighting education in the municipality, as did the Secretary of Education, Emerson Caixeta. Sister Conceição de Oliveira Gonçalves, president of the Berlar Sacred Heart of Mary Institute, was also present and emphasized the role of Catholic schools in this important mission of educating.
Invited by the Berlar Education Network, Father Vinícius Maciel, sscc, was responsible for the evening's lecture: "Building Fraternity through Education." In his words, the priest, who is also the director of the Padre Eustáquio Daycare Centers in Belo Horizonte, highlighted the social divisions that directly affect the quality of learning and reinforced the need for us to be more fraternal in the pursuit of equal conditions so that everyone has the same access to quality education.
