The first phase of construction for the future Padre Eustáquio Museum is underway.

An old dream of the community and all devotees of Blessed Father Eustace, a museum entirely dedicated to the life and history of the Blessed, is beginning to become a reality. While researchers and restorers work on the artifacts and documents that will form part of the future museum, renovations are underway on the building.

Attached to the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte, the future Padre Eustáquio Museum will be located on the upper floor of the theater that bears the Blessed Eustáquio's name. The building, which housed ASPE for many years, has begun to be renovated in stages. In the first stage, which is currently underway, the entrance has been remodeled and will become the entrance hall, comprising a lounge, snack bar, and restrooms.

In this initial phase, the cafeteria's kitchen, with countertops and all the necessary infrastructure, is being built; in addition, the flooring and bathrooms also need renovations. Because the cost of the project is very high, the National Secretariat for the Cause of Canonization is working in stages to secure funding and execute each part of the project.

There is still no estimated completion date for the work. Efforts to raise funds for the remaining stages of construction continue, but the news of the start of the Museum's construction is already encouraging devotees and leaving many people eager for its completion.
