Words of Father Eustáquio: Mary, Mother of God and our mother!

Father Eustáquio carried within his mission a great devotion to Mary Most Holy, Mother of God and also our mother. He offers a reflection on her in one of his texts published in the Sacred Hearts Parish Bulletin, dated 1946/1947. Read an excerpt from the Blessed's text:

Mary, Mother of God and our mother!

The Child Jesus obeys her, as you know, the Saints venerate her as their mother, the angels sing her glory and praises for all eternity..

And what should souls do? Behold their mother, whom they follow, sometimes pious, sometimes sinful and repentant, sometimes weak and in need of her support. Pious soul, behold your mother, the beloved teacher about whom you have read so often in the Gospel; she is, make no mistake, truly your beloved mother, with whom you so longed to be, and even more so, she always wanted to be your mother. Sinful soul, behold your mother, who suffered and wept so much because of your countless sins. Weak souls, behold your mother, your powerful help, as the powerful invocation speaks..

Oh, how easy it would be to remember, feel, and love all the hardships that the Mother of Heaven endured for your love. Perhaps it would suffice to remember her poor in Egypt, poor in Bethlehem, searching and weeping for a small place to stay among the powerful. However, she was above all homage, she who, for herself and for her Divine Son, has, beside Him, an exalted throne in celestial glory. Perhaps it suffices to remember her at the foot of the Holy Cross of the Redeemer, immersed in the deepest compunction and sorrow for her Son and for humanity. Perhaps it would suffice to remember her maternal solitude..
