Devotion to Blessed Father Eustáquio is also recorded in Formiga-MG.

Devotees of Father Eustáquio in Formiga, in the central-west region of Minas Gerais, have been celebrating and praying for the canonization of the Blessed. The initiative has the collaboration of Father Douglas Xavier, from the Diocese of Luz-MG.

Last weekend, people attending the Eucharistic Celebration at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish were invited to pray for the canonization process of Blessed Father Eustace. During Sunday Mass at 10:00 AM (Mass with children), the celebrant, Father Douglas, presented the community with an image of Father Eustace that he had just received.

Father Douglas receives the image from the hands of the Secretariat's communications advisor, Marcelo Silveira.

After asking who knew the Padre Eustáquio neighborhood in Belo Horizonte, the priest explained the reason for the place's name, commenting a little about the life of the Blessed One. Father Douglas also invited those present to ask for the intercession of the Blessed One, especially asking for Health and Peace.

Father Douglas Xavier is a priest in the Diocese of Luz/MG. A writer for periodicals and author of books published by Editora Vozes, as well as publications in study journals, he is also a university professor with a degree in Law. On August 30th, he mentioned Father Eustáquio on the program "Adding Jesus and Sharing the Faith," inviting people to learn about the Blessed's story. Furthermore, he celebrated a votive Mass for Father Eustáquio at the parish where he currently works as vicar, alongside Father Adriano Silva (parish priest) and Father Agnaldo Gualberto (vicar).

The priest said that he is devoted to Father Eustáquio and that whenever he goes to the capital of Minas Gerais, he makes a point of visiting the Sanctuary of Health and Peace and spending a moment in prayer before the Father Eustáquio Memorial.
