In January 1949, the mortal remains of Father Eustáquio were removed from the Bonfim Cemetery and taken to the then newly built Sacred Hearts Parish Church, now the Health and Peace Sanctuary.
Even back then, devotion to the Blessed Father was so great that, as a way of honoring Father Eustáquio, people wrote their names and intentions on plastic plant leaves that decorated the coffin used to transport his remains to the Sanctuary. Parishioners from Belo Horizonte and faithful from various parts of Brazil participated in the ceremony, as well as relatives of Blessed Father Eustáquio who came from the Netherlands.

The material that adorned the coffin has now been recovered through the restoration and cleaning process of the Blessed One's belongings and will later be displayed in a museum dedicated to him.
