In commemoration of the Beatification of Father Eustáquio and the 12th "Torcida de Deus" (God's Fan Club) event, a plaque was placed in the entrance hall of the Mineirão stadium. The unveiling ceremony took place 15 years ago, minutes before the Beatification ceremony.
The plaque, which bears the face of Father Eustáquio, informs visitors that the Beatification of the Dutch priest and the "Torcida de Deus" (God's Fan Club) event took place there. The plaque also includes the names of important leaders of the Catholic Church, such as Pope Benedict XVI, Dom Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Belo Horizonte, and Father Enrique Lousada, Superior General of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts at the time.
In addition to the Archbishop of the capital, Dom Walmor, those present at the ceremony included Cardinal José Saraiva Martins, representing the Pope, Father Lúcio Dumond Prado, vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization of Father Eustáquio at the time, Deputy Danilo de Castro, representing then-Governor Aécio Neves, among other political and religious authorities.
