Without a mass confession session, the Sanctuary will hold a Community Penitential Celebration.

Due to the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus, in 2021 the faithful will not be able to count on the confession drives that take place every year to serve the largest number of people in each parish.

The solution found to allow the community to receive the Sacrament of Penance and experience Easter more intensely was the Community Penitential Celebrations, known as Community Confessions.

At the Sanctuary of Health and Peace, the church of Father Eustáquio, there will be two days of celebrations. One of them will be... February 24th (next Wednesday) at 3pm and at 7pm. Registration for these celebrations is now open. clicking here, or by picking up the tickets in person at the Parish Office.

The other celebrations will take place on March 24th (also a Wednesday), at two different times, 3 PM and 7 PM. Registration for this day will be available the week before the celebration.

The Community Penitential Celebration will not be streamed online, and attendees will need to follow all health and safety protocols, including having their temperature checked, sanitizing their shoes and hands, and wearing a mask at all times while in the church.

The Community Confession

“In cases of grave necessity, recourse may be made to the communal celebration of reconciliation, with general confession and general absolution” (CCC 1483). Mother Church, like her Lord, desires that all men be saved. Therefore, observing the necessary provisions, she seeks to facilitate as much as possible the reception of the aids of grace for her children through the sacraments.

Based on this principle and historically motivated, above all, by the two great world wars, the Church introduced the discipline that makes possible the administration of the sacrament of penance with collective absolution.
