This Saturday, August 29th, devotees of Father Eustáquio who live in the neighborhood that bears the same name were moved by the passage of the procession (by car) with the image of the Blessed One.
Leading the procession was a car bearing the banner of the Sacred Hearts, directing the cortege. Immediately following was a sound truck drawing people's attention to the procession's arrival; another vehicle carried images of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, and yet another carried the image of Our Lady of the Abbey of Água Suja. Finally, a richly decorated float carried the image of Blessed Father Eustace.
The route was almost 25 kilometers long and took about 4 hours. Along the way, devotees expressed their affection for the Blessed with songs, applause, small altars, and many shouts of "Health and Peace" and "Long live Father Eustáquio." Upon arrival at the church, the Vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization, Father Vinicius Maciel, SSCC, gave a blessing that was also broadcast on YouTube and on the vice-postulation's Instagram.
On Sunday, the church will be open all day with controlled entry for worshippers. At 6 PM, there will be a mass with the president of the CNBB (National Conference of Brazilian Bishops), Dom Walmor, without the presence of the congregation.
