WARNING: People with malicious intent are using the church's name to solicit money.

A parishioner's account alerted priests and authorities to a possible scam in the Padre Eustáquio neighborhood of Belo Horizonte. People were reportedly using the name of the Padre Eustáquio church to solicit money.

The message was received on Monday, April 27th, by the Vice-Rector of the Health and Peace Sanctuary, Father Marcus Vinícius Maciel, sscc. The message read: “"Hi Father, how are you? Someone came to my house today asking for money in the name of the church. The man even had a piece of paper from the parish!"”

Father Vinícius immediately alerted the parishioners to the fact that someone is using the parish's name to solicit money and made it clear that the Sanctuary or Church of Father Eustáquio does not do this. “"The church doesn't go from house to house asking for money or contributions.", the priest emphasized.

During this quarantine period, the Padre Eustáquio church requests that people deposit tithes, offerings, or donations for the Ladies of Charity, the Cause of Canonization, or the Padre Eustáquio Daycare Center directly into the Parish's account: Caixa Econômica Federal, branch 0089, operation 003, checking account: 500.014-9 – CNPJ: 17.505.249/0057-06. And send a message to the WhatsApp (31) 99657-9656 , speaking about the allocation of the money.

Those who prefer can stop by the church (which is open all day) and place the donation boxes in one of the collection boxes located throughout the building. Or, if you are unable to leave home, call the church and arrange the best way for us to collect the donations.

Do not give money to anyone claiming to be asking for money on behalf of the parish. BE ALERT! And if you are approached, call 190 to report the incident and have the suspects investigated.
