Donations for victims of the rains are being delivered in Sabará and Barreiro, in Belo Horizonte.

All the material collected by parishioners and visitors to the Sanctuary of Health and Peace was delivered this Friday, January 31st, to locations that coordinate the distribution of donations to people affected by the recent storms.

Part of the team went to the Barreiro region in Belo Horizonte. There, many people whose homes were flooded by the waters of the Arrudas stream (in the Betânia neighborhood and surrounding areas), as well as families affected by landslides in Vila Bernadete and other at-risk areas, have been receiving support from the Red Cross, religious communities (such as the Villaregia Missionary Community), and parishes in the region. What was collected here at the Padre Eustáquio church will be combined with other donations and go directly to those affected.

Father Edmar de Oliveira, ss.cc, brothers of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, and lay people from the parish went to Sabará, in the metropolitan region, to deliver another part of the donations. The materials were delivered to the Parish of Our Lady of the Conception, which has been doing a beautiful job of helping the homeless, displaced, and those who lost furniture and personal belongings in the floods.

Throughout the week, the Sanctuary received clothing, shoes, water, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items. On Friday, volunteers sorted everything and organized the donations, transporting them to the support points.

To those who helped us, our deepest gratitude! To those who lost everything, our support and prayers! May God, through the intercession of Blessed Father Eustace, bless you all with good health and peace.
