General Councilor and Vice-Superior General of the Congregation visit Catuji-MG

As part of their canonical visit to Brazil, Father Jean Blaise Mwanda, ss.cc (general councilor) and Father Derek Laverty, ss.cc (vice-superior general), visited the city of Catuji, in Minas Gerais. The Congregation has been present in that municipality since 2011. Serving in this parish community are Fathers João Lucas Alves and Élcio Rubens Felix, as well as Brother Francisco Gleison Oliveira.

This parish has 45 communities, and the most distant one is about 90 minutes from the main church. According to the members of the Congregation who made the visit, everything was very well prepared, and they were able to get to know the rural communities where masses are celebrated. Father Jean-Blaise even said that this visit to the rural communities brought back memories of the time he lived in Mozambique, Africa.

On the last day of the canonical visit, the priests concelebrated Sunday Mass at the Parish Church of Saint Michael the Archangel. Immediately afterwards, they met with pastoral leaders from various parish sectors, including catechists, the liturgy team, prayer groups, and others. The visit was also an opportunity to speak with each brother of the Congregation, to listen to and talk individually with each one. The visit concluded with a delicious lunch at the Parish Center.
