Find out what the house where Father Eustáquio was born looks like today.

During a visit to the Netherlands at the invitation of Father Eustáquio's nephews, the vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization, Fr. Marcus Vinícius Maciel, ss.cc, visited the house where Humbertus (Father Eustáquio's baptismal name) was born on November 3, 1890, and where the boy spent a good part of his childhood and adolescence.

The residence is located in Aarle Rixtel, in the south of the Netherlands, and today belongs to two nephews of Father Eustace (sons of the Blessed's older brother). According to Father Vinicius, the interior of the house has been modified, and the only part preserved to this day is the facade: "The entire exterior of the house is original and preserved as it was in the 19th century, but the interior has been completely modified.".

The mansion was divided and became two residences with distinct numbers (one for each nephew). During the renovation, some bricks from the original construction were removed, transformed into relics, and sent to various places. In Brazil, the Sanctuary of Health and Peace and the Padre Eustáquio School each hold one piece.

The street where Father Eustáquio's birthplace is located was named after the Blessed, and the facade of the residence has a commemorative plaque reminding passersby that the first years of his life were spent there, in that very place, by the man who would be known to all as the Messenger of Health and Peace.
