Last Sunday, September 22nd, the Health and Peace Sanctuary in Belo Horizonte held its 1st Vocational Games, with the theme: “"Come and follow me"” (Mt 19:21) and the motto: “"Following Jesus Christ: vocation, charism and mission.". The event was organized by the Vocational Animation Service (SAV) team, whose role is to raise awareness and create a vocational culture in the community.
The competition, open to the entire parish, had the participation of 25 people of all ages and pastoral groups, who formed three teams to compete. Through games and activities such as a jigsaw puzzle with all the vocations, rounds of questions and answers, "name that tune," a vocational quiz, and charades, it was possible to create an interactive reflection among the participants. The two teams with the highest scores were awarded prizes.
For Edir Silveira, a volunteer in various sectors at the Sacred Hearts Parish, the participation was very worthwhile. “"Congratulations to SAV for promoting the vocational competition. There was a lot of interaction, camaraderie, and engagement; it was great."”
To participate, each person donated a non-perishable food item that will be part of a basic food basket to be donated to a needy family in the region. The entire event was filled with prayers and reflections and ultimately achieved its goal.
At the end of the event, the organizers were praised and congratulated by the participants. “"Thank you to SAV for the scavenger hunt, and those who didn't participate missed out; it was a fun catechesis, with interaction regardless of age.", said Irene Brasil, a member of the Apostleship of Prayer.
