Congregation participates in Festival in Mogi das Cruzes, SP

The brothers and sisters of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts: Edvaldo Carneiro, Vítor Borges, Marilene Souza, and Dulce Mera participated in the Vocational Tent in Mogi das Cruzes. The tent was set up for the traditional Seminary Festival of the Diocese of Mogi das Cruzes, which includes the cities of Poá and Ferraz de Vasconcelos in São Paulo.

This year marked the 20th edition of the festival. The event brought together the families of seminarians and thousands of people from the region with the aim of uniting the entire Diocese in prayer, work, and support for vocations, as well as demonstrating the importance of fostering a broad vocational culture.

The program included sporting activities, performances by Catholic bands, a mass presided over by the diocesan bishop, Dom Pedro Luiz Stringhini, as well as a presentation by singing priests. At the Vocational Tent, where the brothers and sisters of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, the Congregation of Father Eustáquio, performed, it was possible to learn about the communities active in the Diocese. At the Tent of Mercy, priests heard confessions.
This year, in the old building of the Paulo VI Faculty, there was an exhibition about the life of Blessed Father Eustáquio, commemorating the centenary of his priestly ordination. Furthermore, the celebration takes place in a natural preservation area with opportunities for hiking trails and ecological activities.

The Congregation has been present in the Diocese for over 70 years through Parishes and Formation Houses, which are still linked to Social Works and the presence of the Secular Branch. It was in the Diocese of Mogi das Cruzes, in Poá, that the manifestations of extraordinary graces began with the blessings of Father Eustáquio.
