The devotees of the Blessed Father Eustace Community in Uberaba, in the Triângulo Mineiro region, have already begun the celebrations in honor of Father Eustace. The festivities opened with Holy Mass, presided over by Monsignor Geraldo Faria, who then invited the faithful to walk through some streets of the neighborhood with the image of Our Lady of the Abbey, which came from Romaria-MG, the city where Father Eustace lived for 10 years (1925-1935).
During the celebration, Monsignor Geraldo spoke about Father Eustáquio's devotion to Our Lady of the Abbey and about the religious man's commitment to working on the construction of the Sanctuary in the city of Água Suja, now Romaria.
Right after the mass and the procession, the neighborhood residents held a "pastel night" (a type of Brazilian pastry). Besides bringing people together and creating a joyful and relaxed atmosphere, the event also raised funds for the community's upkeep. On the 30th, a large celebration is being prepared to commemorate Father Eustáquio.
