In preparation for Father Eustace Day, celebrated on August 30th, the Cause for the Canonization of Blessed Father Eustace is promoting an initiative to revive an old tradition linked to the date: the distribution of herbs and medicinal plants to devotees.
In order for the tradition to be revived, the Cause for Canonization is receiving donations of medicinal herbs. Among the most needed plants are rosemary and lemon balm, also known as lemongrass.
Donations can be delivered to Padre Eustáquio's store on Saturday, August 29th, from 8 am to 12 pm. Those who prefer can also bring the herbs on August 30th itself, when volunteers will be at Padre Eustáquio's tomb all day to receive donations.
The initiative seeks not only to guarantee the herbs for distribution, but also to preserve a tradition that is part of the experience of faith and devotion of the devotees of Father Eustáquio.
