The 2nd Health and Peace Symposium – Formative Itineraries: Life and Spirituality of Blessed Father Eustace concluded with great participation and positive results. Held throughout July and early August, the event brought together more than 90 participants in five online meetings dedicated to deepening the history, spirituality, and mission of the Missionary of Health and Peace.
Promoted by the Vice-Postulation of the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Father Eustáquio, the symposium was designed to offer devotees, researchers, and those interested a solid education on different aspects of the Blessed's life, from his childhood in the Netherlands to his mission in Brazil and the path taken by the Church to his beatification and the current canonization process.
Throughout the five meetings, researchers, priests, devotees, and guests shared knowledge and research, addressing topics such as Father Eustáquio's arrival in Brazil, his missionary work in various cities in Minas Gerais, his spirituality centered on the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, the testimony of holiness he left to the Brazilian people, and the main steps in the Cause for Canonization.
The symposium provided opportunities for dialogue and sharing among participants from different regions of Brazil, strengthening the network of devotees and encouraging new initiatives to spread awareness of the life and mission of the Blessed.
Another important aspect of the event was its charitable nature. All proceeds from registrations will go towards the maintenance of the Padre Eustáquio Museum in Belo Horizonte, contributing to the preservation of the memory and legacy of the Missionary of Health and Peace for future generations.
Even after the live sessions have ended, participants continue to have access to the recordings of the classes, allowing them to revisit the content and further deepen their studies on the life and spirituality of the Blessed.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Beatification of Blessed Father Eustace, the II International Symposium on Health and Peace reaffirmed the commitment of the Vice-Postulation of the Cause of Canonization to make the story of the man who dedicated his life to proclaiming the message of "Health for your bodies and peace for your souls" ever more widely known. The success of this edition reinforces the importance of formation as an instrument to strengthen devotion and prepare new missionaries of the message left by Blessed Father Eustace.
