Last Thursday, August 7th, the rector of the Shrine of Aparecida, Fr. Eduardo Catalfo, received from the hands of the vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Father Eustáquio, Fr. Vinicius Maciel, SS.CC, a commemorative plaque marking the 100th anniversary of the visit of Father Eustáquio and his companions to the house of Our Lady of Aparecida.
Throughout the day, the rector was with the vice-postulator participating in the celebrations of the date. At 7:45 am, on TV Aparecida, the representative of the Cause of Canonization was one of the guests on the program "Morning Blessing". The participation lasted about 12 minutes and recounted a little about the Blessed's visit to the Sanctuary in 1925.
Later in the morning, at 9:00 AM, the Holy Mass, celebrated at the National Shrine, was dedicated to the Centenary of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts in Brazil. The provincial, Fr. Osvânio Humberto Mariano, SS.CC, concelebrated alongside other brothers who were participating in a retreat in Pindamonhangaba-SP.
At 6 PM, in the Historic Basilica, Father Eduardo Catalfo presided over the celebration commemorating the 100th anniversary of the historic handover of the mission.

Everything was broadcast on TV Aparecida and Canal Padre Eustáquio.

During the celebration, Father Vinícius Maciel, SS.CC, recounted the story of the arrival and consecration performed by the Blessed. At the end, a commemorative plaque was presented to the rector. It includes a copy of the postcard Father Eustáquio sent to his sister in the Netherlands, describing his arrival in Aparecida. There is also an image of the Blessed, as well as the commemorative logo for the 100th anniversary.
All celebrations were broadcast live on TV Aparecida and retransmitted on the Padre Eustáquio Channel on YouTube.
