On the path of faith, there are those who, through their lives and mission, become true pilgrims of hope. Blessed Father Eustace was one of them. His witness resonates deeply in the context of the Holy Year 2025, which invites us to live hope as a gift and a commitment.
Since his arrival in Brazil, Father Eustáquio traveled through cities and touched hearts, bringing comfort to the sick, welcoming the poor, and proclaiming the peace of Christ. His mission was not limited to a fixed place; he walked, sowing hope wherever it was needed. His motto, "Health and Peace," was not just a greeting, but a promise of a God who never abandons His children.
Just as Jubilee pilgrims are called to cross the Holy Door in search of renewed faith, Father Eustace guided people to an even greater door: Christ, the hope that does not disappoint. His life of prayer, sacrifice, and dedication teaches us that, even amidst difficulties, Christian hope illuminates every step of the journey.
In this Holy Year, as we remember his legacy, we are invited to follow his example: to be pilgrims of hope, bearers of the light of Christ in the world. May the intercession of Blessed Father Eustace strengthen us on this journey towards the ultimate encounter with God!
Sanctuary of Health and Peace – Jubilee Church
The Sanctuary of Health and Peace, Church of Blessed Father Eustáquio, is also one of the Jubilee Churches of the Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte. Our Sanctuary awaits and welcomes the visit of the faithful and pilgrims in this Holy Year to experience and further strengthen the spirituality necessary to promote and share hope.
Those who perform the essential exercises to obtain the grace of plenary indulgence, if truly repentant of their sins, are freed from the penalty that is a consequence of the evil committed and which must be served when the soul arrives in purgatory. Among the exercises that can lead the faithful to obtain plenary indulgence in the Holy Year 2025 are pilgrimages to the holy doors, opened by Pope Francis in the basilicas of Rome, or to the jubilee churches, defined by the archbishops and titular bishops of each archdiocese or diocese.
