The current Superior General, Alberto Toutin, SS.CC, was re-elected on Monday, September 16th, for another term as head of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts. The re-election took place during the 40th General Chapter, which is being held until the end of this week in Rome, Italy.

In addition to Fr. Alberto Toutin, SS.CC, the following members of the General Council were elected on the 17th: Fernando Cordero, Jean Blaise Mwanda, Stephen Banjare and Enrique Ramírez.
The General Chapter, which brings together about 80 representatives of the Sacred Hearts worldwide, also included the election of the Sisters: Patricia Villarroel, Noemí García, Susana Villarreal, and Pushpa Rani.
Let us give thanks to God for the availability and service of each of these brothers and sisters who, as missionaries, bring us the Kingdom of God every day and in every place.
The General Chapter
The 40th General Chapter of the Religious of the Sacred Hearts is taking place in Rome, from September 1st to next Sunday, the 22nd. The meeting develops the main theme of the Sacred Hearts: identity and mission, which permeates and guides the structures, leadership, economy and solidarity, as well as the formation and the spiritual and historical heritage of the Congregation. Representing Brazil are the provincial superior, Fr. Osvânio Humberto Mariano, SS.CC., and the vice-postulator of the Cause of Father Eustáquio, Fr. Vinícius Maciel, SS.CC.
A fundamental aspect of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts is that it is a single family of brothers and sisters, to which lay spirituality and mission are associated.
