The newest priest of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts was ordained last weekend. The Eucharistic Celebration with the ordination rite was held this Sunday, July 7th, at the São Miguel Arcanjo Community in Guarapari, Espírito Santo.
The ordination of Father Vanildo Lima Sena, SSCC, was closely followed by family, friends, and the entire community, who filled the venue's courtyard. Bishop Andherson Franklin Lustoza de Souza, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Vitória-ES, presided over the ordination, the first of his episcopal life. In his words, Bishop Andherson spoke of the mission of the new priest, who chose the theme "I know in whom I have placed my trust." The bishop also gratefully recalled his relationship with the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts.
Father Vanildo, SS.CC
Vanildo Lima Sena, SS.CC. was born in the city of Anchieta-ES, on December 12, 1992. Son of Valdemir José Sena and Marilza Machado Lima Sena, he entered the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts in 2016. He completed his novitiate in 2019 in Chaclacayo and professed his first vows on January 25, 2020, in the Chapel of Casa Anchieta in Boraceia-SP.
He completed his Theology studies in 2020 at the Jesuit Faculty. In 2021, he completed his pastoral year at the Sacred Hearts Community in Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. In 2022, he began residing in the religious community of the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte, where he served pastorally until November 2023. He professed his Perpetual Vows on July 27, 2023, at the São José Operário Chapel in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo.
On November 10, 2023, he was ordained a Deacon by Bishop Aloísio Pena Vitral at the Church of Blessed Father Eustáquio in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, and since then has carried out his mission in Pedra Azul, in the Jequitinhonha Valley. Now ordained a priest, the newly ordained priest will maintain his mission in Pedra Azul until a new field of apostolate is given to him.
