The vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Father Eustace, Father Vinícius Maciel, SSCC, recorded a message in the gardens of the Church of Saint Francis, in the city of Assisi, Italy. In the material, Fr. Vinícius speaks of Francis's greeting to the Sultan: "Peace and Good" and makes a reference to Father Eustace's greeting: "Health and Peace" as the motto of those who bring Christ to people.
The video was recorded in April, when Father Vinícius visited Italy along with other pilgrims on the trip: “Along the Paths of Father Eustáquio”. On that occasion, the priest and a professional from the Padre Eustáquio Channel recorded their passage through Assisi with a message and a blessing from the Franciscan land.
Edited this week, the video, which is less than a minute long, will be shown before the live broadcasts of Holy Masses on the Padre Eustáquio Channel until October 4th, when the Church commemorates the saint of Assisi.

Saint Francis of Assisi
Francis was born in Assisi, Italy, in 1182. He was the son of Pietro Bernardone, a wealthy merchant, and Pia, from a noble family in Provence. In his youth, Francis was very rich and squandered money on ostentatious displays. However, his father's business did not interest him, much less his studies. What he really wanted was to have fun. However, Saint Bonaventure, his contemporary, wrote about him: "But, with divine help, he never allowed himself to be carried away by the ardor of the passions that dominated the young people of his company.".
In Francis' youth, around the age of twenty, a war broke out between the Italian cities of Perugia and Assisi. He wanted to fight in Spoleto, between Assisi and Rome, but he fell ill. During his illness, Francis heard a supernatural voice. This voice urged him to... “"to serve love and the Servant"”. Little by little, with much prayer, Francis felt in his heart the need to sell his possessions and “"to buy the precious pearl"” which he had read about in the Gospel.
Once, upon encountering a leper, despite his natural revulsion, he overcame his will and kissed the sick man. It was a gesture moved by the Holy Spirit. From that moment on, he began to visit and serve the sick in hospitals. To the poor, he gave his own clothes and also whatever money he had at the time.
