The Postulator General for the Causes of Beatification and Canonization of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, Father Andrzej Lukawski, SSCC, received a replica of the statue that is in the gardens of the Padre Eustáquio Memorial in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The postulator also recorded a message for the Padre Eustáquio Channel.
The gift was given by the vice-postulator, responsible for the Cause of Canonization of Father Eustáquio in Brazil, Father Vinícius Maciel, SSCC. The image was presented during a meeting between the two in Rome, a little over two weeks ago.
Father Andrzej is Polish and holds one of the most important positions within the Congregation. The postulator was pleased to receive the image and said it will become part of his personal collection.
The image is a perfect replica of the statue located in the Padre Eustáquio Memorial, inaugurated in 2009. It was created by the São Paulo artist Edu Santos. The work was commissioned by Jam van den Boomen, Padre Eustáquio's nephew, to the Brazilian artist. For Edu, this was the first large-scale work he created, and according to him, since then, Padre Eustáquio has been blessing his work because it has opened many doors for him.
