Known as the Sacred Hearts Square, the space in front of the Sanctuary of Health and Peace, the Church of Father Eustáquio, in Belo Horizonte, began to be revitalized this week. The idea is to improve the space, which has already been degraded by the effects of time.
Workers and machinery have been working on the churchyard of Padre Eustáquio Church since the end of the week, beginning the revitalization works. According to the initial project, new parking spaces will be created and the square will also gain new green spaces, such as raised flowerbeds bordering the parking spaces. There will be a greater emphasis on pedestrian spaces, with better signposted and safer access.
The project will be divided into phases to facilitate fundraising, therefore, there is no set deadline for completion yet.
The next step will be the maintenance of the church roof, which has broken tiles and leaks in various parts of the temple.
