A fake news story has been circulating in WhatsApp groups and other social media, claiming that the priests of the Sanctuary of Health and Peace, Church of Blessed Father Eustáquio, were the victims of an attack, with an attempted assassination using an axe. The material is an edited version of a news story, containing false information.

The truth is that a 76-year-old man had a psychotic episode, entered the church screaming, and clung to one of the chairs in the presbytery. Similar incidents had happened before, but in this last case, it was necessary to call the police, who promptly removed the man from the premises.

The rector of the Sanctuary, Father Vinícius Maciel, ss.cc, released a statement on his social media explaining the truth about the matter: “"We reiterate that at no time was there any violence on the part of the man who invaded the altar. He even returned to the Sanctuary after receiving medical treatment and regaining his health, to personally apologize to the priests.".”, said Father Vinicius.
