Good Friday, also known as Holy Friday, is when we celebrate the Passion and Death of Jesus. Silence, fasting, and prayer should mark this moment. Contrary to what many believe, the Passion should not be experienced in a climate of mourning, but of profound respect and meditation before the death of the Lord, who, in dying, was victorious and brought salvation to all, rising again to eternal life.
To mark the day, the Sanctuary of Health and Peace has prepared a special program.
7am Crown of Sorrows of Our Lady (in the Church)
7am Stations of the Cross procession through the streets of the neighborhood (starting at the corner of Pará de Minas and Vila Rica streets)
12 PM Sermon of the Seven Last Words
3 PM Celebration of the Passion and Death of Our Lord Jesus Christ
7 PM Passion Play, followed by the funeral procession.
