In 1942, Father Eustáquio was sent as a temporary parish priest to the city of Ibiá-MG, where he stayed for less than two months, but he left behind the project for the Santa Casa (Holy House) that today bears his name.
In the parish register of São Pedro de Alcântara, in the city of Ibiá, Father Eustáquio wrote about having received land for the construction of an asylum and a charitable institution.
“"There was a donation of land of approximately 3 alqueires (approximately 7.26 hectares) by the distinguished caretaker of Elisena, for the benefit of a charitable institution and an asylum. The deed was registered in the name of the Church of Saint Peter of Alcantara. Another plot of land for the benefit of the charitable institution was donated to the parish church by the benevolent lady, Dona Modesta.".
"May God bless this beautiful parish with its good people, its school with the most worthy Chaplain Canon-Mgr Almir, who has assisted us so much in the ministry of the parish."”
Inspired by Father Eustáquio's work with the sick and needy, the Santa Casa de Misericórdia Padre Eustáquio was inaugurated in 1956 and continues to serve the population to this day in the square that bears the same name as the Blessed: Praça Padre Eustáquio, in the center of Ibiá, a city in the Alto Paranaíba region of Minas Gerais.
